Ingredients

3 cups shredded lettuce, such as romaine

3 ripe avocados

Juice of 1 lime

1 teaspoon coarse salt

1 small white onion, thinly sliced

2 small tomatoes, quartered

1/2 teaspoon ground white or black pepper

Preparation

Arrange lettuce on a platter. Halve avocados lengthwise, then peel and pit. Slice avocados lengthwise. Place slices in a bowl. Add lime juice and salt; gently toss to combine. Arrange avocado slices over lettuce. Top with onion and tomatoes, and sprinkle with pepper.
